Sara Summer (she/her) provides HEEL ME's training, coaching, and consulting services. Currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration degree at the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, she intends to facilitate communication, collaboration, and connection in public administration.
Sara has "invisible" disabilities - including depression, anxiety, and PTSD - and will ask for accommodations to ensure her needs are met. As a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT), Sara allows herself to perpetually be "in training" with her dog Avi (אבי) and her cat Rick (רבקה). Integrating a person-centered approach with specific healing modalities, Sara has refined a reflective, resourceful, empathetic, and gentle touch. Her specific hobbies include taking photographs, confronting internalized oppression, and leading glitter-heavy expressive arts workshops.
Emphasizing Community-Based Organizations' Policy and Leadership, Sara graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Engagement & Education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Her work experience includes 7 years of advocacy for people with disabilities, including program development for the Friendship Circle of Arizona. She is a long-time volunteer for Kokua, with two years of board membership and three years of tutoring in the program Literacy and Education for Adults with Disabilities (LEAD).
