5 min - reflective questions for the group: relating the Wordpress workshop to your big ideas and doing an accessibility checkin...
In small groups: What did Wordpress offer that you liked and/or didn’t like? What do you need in a web host (No/low cost? Freedom to code? Predesigned templates? Customer support?). What do you need in general, in this moment?
In large group: Connect the responses to my perspective/segue to my Squarespace site
5 min - examples of my work: photos and a quick video clip comparing how my website used to look and how it looks now (I started out using Wordpress and then switched to Squarespace).
Insert break here?
15-20 min - modeling how to do things with beauty:
(5 min) - guided visualization/breathing activity where we collectively imagine the forest and build the trees. Practicing this skill could be as simple as inviting people to pay attention to the computer lab environment (how does the group feel = forest)(how do you feel = trees).
Sit with the feeling and listen to this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8ChiNgIr5A
(10-15 min) - web design tutorial where we “layer in the beauty”/make a website for my friend William Fitzsimmons (a musician who is totally open to collaborating with MALL students)
Start here - http://heelme.com/canciones
Remember those breaths - they are practice for imagining the forest and building the trees!
Duplicate http://heelme.com/aviva and layer in stories, photos, songs
Invite people to come up and add things themselves?
5 min - questions
25-30 min - creative practice (build something on your own or in small groups, talk to Sarah one-on-one, go home early, whatever)
